Designed for all levels and from the age of 8 or 10, these snowboard lessons offer a gentle introduction to a winter sport other than downhill skiing, under the guidance of a caring and experienced ESF instructor. After a few stumbles, apprentice snowboarders usually quickly get the hang of riding on the slopes of the French-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area.

By making a distinction between different levels of experience, as is also the case in skiing, the ESF instructors at Portes du Soleil teach snowboarding to each of their pupils using an adapted methodology. For both children and adults, a very precise classification has been put in place by the French ski school. Children are divided into Goomie Riders, Rookie Riders and Izzy Riders. Adults, meanwhile, are divided into 5 categories: Discovery Snowboard, First Snowboard, Second Snowboard, Third Snowboard and Expert Snowboard.

From the "Second Snowboard" level upwards, you can take part in snowboarding competitions consisting of a series of tricks leading to various awards, each more memorable than the last: Bronze, Silver, Vermeil and Gold Boarder.
